MISSISSAUGA, Ont. \u2014 Peel region police are now looking into a bizarre tale involving Mississauga, Ont., municipal staff who were duct taped and spanked by co-workers.<\/p>\n
Const. J.P. Valade says after viewing the video police have started an investigation, and are trying to identify the participants in the video.<\/p>\n
Police say they were approached on March 30 by a man who made a complaint about hazing, but the investigation revealed he was not the victim of the incidents and criminal charges were not laid.<\/p>\n
However, after video surfaced showing bound up workers, Valade says there may be potential victims.<\/p>\n
An employee in the Transportation and Works Department complained to the city last November about abuse he captured on his cellphone camera.<\/p>\n
An independent investigation determined the workers were simply engaging in horseplay and locker-room behaviour.<\/p>\n
But Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion says city employees involved in the incidents could still lose their jobs.<\/p>\n
